**IMPORTANT** Please turn OFF “Automatic Updates
On your HP printer try the following on the printer screen menu:
Option 1
“Setup”-> “Printer Maintenance”-> “Update the printer”-> Turn off auto- matic updates
Option 2
“Web Services”-> “Settings”-> “Printer Update”-> Auto Update Off
On your Computer:
Step 1. When the HP Update prompt is displayed, select Settings (if shown).
Step 2. Select ‘Never’ under Notification software update frequency
Step 3. If your computer continues to display the HP Update prompt, se- lect Cancel.

HP will push a firmware update to their printers from time to time. These firmware updates are designed to stop old original HP, refilled, and compatible cartridge chips to fail.
It is very important to make sure that your printer is not configured to accept updates!
Please take a few minutes to make sure Auto Updates are turned off on your printer. This will ensure your printer is not automatically updated and will save you money in the end by ensuring your cartridge original HP or otherwise are used until fully depleted.
