For many years, Printer Refillers offered in-store ink cartridge refill services in Winnipeg and Montreal mall locations. Some of our long-time customers still remember bringing their empty cartridges to us for refilling while shopping nearby.

A lot has changed since then.

Over the past several years, the printer industry has evolved dramatically. Modern printer cartridges have become increasingly complex, with updated chip technology, integrated printheads, and manufacturer restrictions that make traditional walk-in refill services far less reliable and practical than they once were.

About three years ago, we closed our final mall refill location and shifted our focus entirely to online sales and delivery of compatible and remanufactured printer cartridges across Canada.

So Why Are We Still Called Printer Refillers?

It’s a fair question.

The name Printer Refillers reflects both our history and the products we continue to provide today. While we no longer refill customer-owned cartridges in-store, many of the remanufactured cartridges we sell are themselves professionally cleaned, refilled, tested, and reused.

In other words, refill technology is still part of what we do.

We continue to help customers refill or resupply their printers with affordable alternatives to expensive OEM cartridges — just through a more modern and reliable business model.

Why We Moved Away From In-Store Refills

There were several reasons for the transition:

1. Modern Cartridges Became More Difficult to Refill

Printer manufacturers introduced new chips, firmware updates, and cartridge designs that reduced refill compatibility and reliability.

2. Customers Wanted Convenience

More customers preferred ordering cartridges online and having them delivered directly to their home or office rather than visiting a physical store.

3. Better Product Consistency

Professionally remanufactured cartridges often provide more consistent performance than one-off manual refill services.

4. Expanded Product Selection

Our online model allows us to offer a much larger selection of ink and toner cartridges for printers across Canada.
